Happy Birthday Nails

I mentioned last week that I made presents on my nails for my birthday that was a few days later. Well, my sister's birthday is two years and exactly one week after mine. So when she came over on Friday, I got to do birthday nails again! She's turning 21 on Tuesday, so she wanted something that said "PARTY!" She wanted a white french tip with glitter over the whole nail. Simple, yet stunning!

Once I finished with her "Happy 21st Birthday" nails, I started on my own. This doesn't really have an inspiration... I just love the french tip with a few accents. I hope I didn't go too overboard with the accents...

Double The Fun!

The below pictures are of my sister's nails which I did yesterday when she came over to my house for lunch. I started off with CND stickey base coat, then two coats of Sally Hansen's Hard as Nails Xtreme wear (19 marine scene). The flowers have Sally Hansen's Hard as Nails Xtreme wear (27 mellow yellow) for the petals and Sally Hansen's nail art pen (gold) for the centers. The leaves have Ultra Pro (709511 emerald city) to make up the most of the leaf, and then Sally Hansen's Hard as Nails Xtreme wear (17 ivy league) for the center detail. I then finished up with Seche Vite dry fast top coat. I must say, she is very happy with her nails and I can't wait to do them again!

Once I finished up my sister's nails it was time to do my own! Since my birthday is in a few days, I decided to give myself a little present... 10 presents to be exact! I used CND stickey base coat, and then two coats of Sally Hansen's Hard as Nails Xtreme wear (27 mellow yellow) and then Stripe Rite (pink) for the details. I finished off with Seche Vite dry fast top coat and wal-ah! Happy Birthday to me!

Who Knew?

For as long as I can remember, I have been a nail biter! In July of 2007 I started working as a C.N.A. at a nursing home, and what with everything my hands were touching (even with gloves on) that's when I stopped biting my nails. But it wasn't easy! I decided that maybe if my nails looked nice, I wouldn't want to bite them. So I started off just putting a top coat on them once a week. About a year ago, I was getting tired of my boring nails, so I started searching videos on YouTube.com to show me how to spice up my nails. Right away, I had a knack for nail design. Even some of my friends ask me to do their nails. I never thought about doing a blog for my nail art, but here it goes!

In the picture above, I used a base coat (always important to apply a base coat!) and then used a blue nail polish for the french tip (2 coats). I then used a nailpolish specifically for thin lines to do the white accents. I finished off with a nice top coat and ta-da! Nails I would never want to bite off!
